Heddons Gate is superbly positioned on the slopes of the magnificently wooded Heddon Valley hidden at the end of a quarter-mile drive you will discover its tranquil country house atmosphere and only few places can match the enviable setting of this hotel. Heddon s Gate originally built dates back to 1890 s but only became a hotel in 1967 and has been sympathetically extended over the decades when the Victorian wealthy were choosing all the best sites for their country estates the hotel is now a charming fusion of different styles. There are so many places to relax and enjoy this fine old country house a cosy library with a wide choice of books a large lounge a TV room and a spacious bar all with fine views of the garden and the wooded hills beyond the main breakfast/dining room is in the new wing and also has beautiful views. Heddon s Gate has eleven distinctive bedrooms each with its own particular charm equipped with TV radio hair dryer direct dial telephone and hot drink facilities. The three rooms in the newer north wing are contemporary whereas the rooms in the original wing are mostly more traditional in style. All have attractive en suite bathrooms with WC basin and bath and/or shower most of the bathrooms in the original wing also have a bidet food and drink are an important part of the Heddon s Gate experience relax and unwind in the comfort of the hotel. All produce is locally sourced wherever possible outside the terraced garden faces west and is a real sun trap in the afternoon eight of the eleven guest bedrooms have spectacular views of the garden and the valley beyond.
