Useful for those on the go

Useful for those on the go
Being an academic, I always have piles of paper everywhere, at home and in the office. When I get round to it, most get filed in document wallets that in turn are placed in lever-arch ring binders, but I thought I’d explore these as another option. The plastic folder is larger than A4 in size, so it can accommodate A4 papers. It was four holes near the spine, so that you can put it in a ring binder if you so desire. Opened out, there is a pocket on the bottom of each side and a flap in the top corner of each side, which is useful for keeping your papers in place. On the left side there are a couple of dividers, so you can keep your papers separate, while on the right side there’s a smaller pocket that could hold a floppy disk (if anyone still uses these?) or perhaps some business cards or the like. This folder won’t hold very much, so I don’t think this really suits my needs, which primarily involve organising and storing a large number of papers in one place. I assume the intended purpose is for those ‘on the go’ – for instance if you have to take papers to a meeting – and it seems well-suited for that purpose. Since I’ve been house-hunting lately, I’ve been using them to keep the various estate agent brochures that I’ve been accumulating and they serve this purpose well enough. That it’s plastic is an added bonus, since it will withstand a bit of water, but be aware that the holes near the spine may let the papers inside get wet. I also doubt that it’s tough enough to withstand much rough handling (I often carry a cardboard folder/wallet of papers in my backpack and they never last long).Overall, I think this will suit those who need to take a relatively small number of papers to meetings and who want to keep them in order. I do think it’s rather expensive for what it is, but this won’t be a problem if you can charge it to a company account anyway.

These are sturdy plastic folders that are to hold a small amount of A4 (or smaller) papers to keep in a organised fashion. I can see this sort of thing being handed out at a meeting with documents for a project, or somebody who is adept at keeping on top of paperwork (like my other half).

I use carboard folders when organising projects at work, for contact details and organising resources, but they seem to have been printed decades ago and you can only affix papers in them with treasury tags. Not very stylish.

Opening up the larger than A4 folder and there are two pockets, one either side. There is also a corresponding corner flap at each outside top corner to tuck your sheets into so they do not fall out. A nice touch. The left hand pocket has two clear dividers for further organisation, while the right hand side has a clear pocket with a lift up latch that can hold business cards, however the Rexel blurb says it can also hold CDs / DVDs, but as I don't have any to hand, I'll have to get back to you on that. Finally, the folder itself has four holes near the spine so it can itself fit into a binder. You do not have to buy black, they also come in purple, red, navy and white. Plus, a five pack is far better value than a single folder.

This would be all fine, but the folder I have here does not match the descrition by Rexel. See user review photos of this binder and if you look at the second photo for the single folder (not this five pack) there is an image of the inside of the folder. It does not have the four holes for binder attachment, it has two prongs to secure hole punched papers. I am assuming this should be listed as the "Rexel Advance Stay Put Folder and File", for example this item.

These are neat folders are perfect for use as small project folders. Designed so that you can tuck the left hand corner of your papers under the tab which hold them in place securely, this option is available on both right and left hand sides. You can also use the folders in the standard hole punch way if you wish. Very versatile and nice to have the option.

The folders also come with transparent dividers as well as a pocket at the front for those smaller bits of paper or business cards that all too easily end up getting lost.

Made from sturdy plastic they are able to withstand the odd dash in the rain without the papers inside getting drenched. I have found mine invaluable for work meetings although they have begun to show signs of wear and tear although still remain quite serviceable.

I really like these - I design gardens for a living and these files are ideal for project work, enabling me to keep drawings, plant lists, images & notes together. The file cover is soft plastic but it looks to be durable and crucially, for me, unlike paper files it won't succumb to the elements. Inside there are pockets to slip papers into with flaps at the top to hold the papers in place on both sides of the file. On one side there are a couple of plastic dividers and a half height pocket to keep things organised and on the other there is a small flap pocket which I find useful for small images, business cards, etc..

The price for the multi-pack seems pretty good too and I am sure I will be back for more of these.

Solidly constructed and seems to repel liquids as the material is water proof. I first thought you have to have to bind the documents to the folder through holes made using a Hole Puncher. You can keep documents securely that are not hole-punched. The tabs in the corners ensure documents corners do not become dog-eared as they are nicely tucked into the tabs. Documents on either side of the folder do not touch each other at the bottom because there is a divider that keeps each side's documents separated. So they really stay in their compartments which is great for Without the little divider you tend to have pressure at the bottom as documents move down

The other side has a closing small clear pocket which will prevent small items like business cards from falling out.

One little gripe is that it seems with long nails, or sharp objects around this, you will have it's surface covered in scratches that will not weaken it but affect it's looks. But then why expose it to things like keys and nails?

These are clever little folders, which you can use as mini folders individually or you can use them within a larger folder - they work perfectly in a lever arch file or you could use 2 or 3 in a standard A4 file (but probably 5 would be too many).

Each folder opens up as a project folder - on the left hand side, you have two full length transparent dividers, creating three section, with a solidly coloured half-length pocket at the front. When you have your papers in place, you can tuck the top left hand corner of the paperwork under a sturdy corner-piece, which holds everything in place. The right hand side has just half-sized bottom pocket, but again with the top right-hand corner flap to secure your paperwork in place. On this side, there is also a small transparent envelope style pocket to keep small items, like business cards or receipts for expenses.

The multipack is good value and is a real asset for keeping organised - perfect for me in my role as a PA!

These folders provide a fairly straightforward solution to store documents of a view pages, keeping them presentable and accessible. I was not hugely impressed with a large sticker on the front which I find unattractive and which did not seem to want to peel off without leaving an adhesive residue behind. I also wonder whether the capacity could not be increased a little. Otherwise, these do the job quite well.
