About as good as you will get for optics at this price. Extremely good value. Unless you want to pay a lot more for optical performance. More than good enough for viewing. I have tried more expensive binos and i dont think that the optical performance which is very slightly better is worth paying the premium for.

Bought for a safari. Just as good, if a little heavier, than my husband's binoculars that he paid a lot more for.

Worth reading the instructions to get the set up right.

Worked just as well looking at birds nearby and animals in the far distance. Also good in failing light.

I Wanted the binoculars for stargazing, nothing so grand as proper astronomy, and they are lovely! Nice and sharp imaging, good contrast, easy to hold, even with my crippled hands!
The only issue I had with them was they could do with a better case and tethered lens covers.
That's just nitpicking, overall they are great!

I liked the feel of these binoculars and the handy storage bag.
However, when using them after setting up the right eyepiece to match my vision, I found that they are only crisp and sharp in the centre field of vision.
Tested from 70 metres to infinity, there is a noticable colour fringing (yellow to red) in the peripheral view.
Not what I expected from Olympus, a good brand usually, in this price range.
Will be looking for a different brand instead.

This is an almost copy paste of my 8x42/12x50 review as all three models deliver the same great experience

I own several instruments primarily for stargazing. These Olympus EXPS beat out my Nikon Action Ex not only on performance in every way but they were MUCH cheaper - which is incredible value!

10x42 provides bright, wide views of the night sky - plus being able to pick out slightly more detail than the 8x42. The edge to edge sharpness is superb, i want to say out to 80% so hardly noticeable softening let alone distracting. The multi coated optics provide lovely contrast on all the different colours of stars such as blue hue in Pleiades, the Action EX lack being fully multi coated and as such give a more neutral view. Im yet to spot colour fringing even during the day which means these optics are well corrected.

The feel in your hand is of a premium instrument, rock solid build quality but not cheap. Smooth centre focus knob and overall quite a compact bino. Not a huge issue for me but the soft case could be a little sturdier if i was going to pick a fault.

I now own all 3 Olympus EXPS I models and have sold my Nikon Action EX - i do like my Nikons but there is a new sheriff in town.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vergleich zu Olympus DPS-I, Zeiss Dekarem, Swaroski Habicht
Reviewed in Germany on 2 May 2018
    Style Name: 10x42Verified Purchase

Da braucht man wirklich kein Swarovski.
