Top reviews from United Kingdom

  • Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2018
I have bought many pairs of Timberland shoes over the years. Not keen on the quality of their clothing, but the footwear has always been outstanding and innovative - well worth paying the premium.

    Until this pair of chukkas.

Initial impressions were good. High quality, thick leather upper in dark brown and extremely comfortable. As expected from Timberland.

However, after one day of wearing, the lovely dark brown colour started to disappear in large areas from the slightest touch on something such as a car pedal. Underneath the dark brown was an almost bright orange/ light tan. As they were so comfortable, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to touch them up with dark brown shoe polish. Due to the waxy nature of the original finish, this had little to no effect. In fact, the shine caused by the polish, detracted from their original look even further.

After about five wears, mainly indoors, the colour was even coming off under the laces. Then the dreaded squeaky sole - as reported by other reviewers. Definitely some type of design/manufacturing fault. Incredibly annoying, and simply renders the shoes unwearable.

I have a pair of three year old Timberland chukkas that look in better condition than this pair, after only two weeks of ownership.

I can only imagine Timberland have let their Quality Control slip on this item. Let's hope this is a blip, and not a reflection of their future products; otherwise they've lost a loyal customer.

    Sent back for a refund.
