This state-of-the-art induction hob has intelligent sensor technology to save you money and make your kitchen a safer place.Induction TechnologyInduction hobs work by heating the base of the pan, rather than the entire cooking zone. A magnetic field induces the heat directly for more efficient cooking. The T40B31X2GB has four cooking zones – two 1.4kW zones at the back and two 1.8kW zones at the front. This range of power levels means you can choose a lower power to gently make a sauce or a higher wattage to rapidly boil a large pot.The automatic pan recognition system can sense whether or not the zone is being used. Induction heat works with ferrous metal pans and will only work if one is on the hob. This is safer and more energy efficient than a ceramic hob. No heat will be transmitted when you’re not using it, even if a metal spoon is accidentally left on the cooking surface.Cooking ControlThis model has electronic touch controls with a clear LED display for each z

I'm having a new kitchen fit at the moment and while I've always used a gas hob I wanted a change mainly I'll admit I wanted something less obtrusive and easier to clean but I didn't really want a traditional electric hob so induction seemed the way to go. The main problem with this however was that none of my existing pans now worked so I reluctantly gave them to my eldest daughter who was thrilled, anyway pans aside I had to get used to induction which has been easier than I expected. This hob has no knobs which was part of its appeal, it's so easy to clean and it looks better than I could have imagined. Having used gas for so long I wondered how difficult it would be to switch but it's been so easy, the lack of cooking 'rings' as such worried me but it's been great no problems at all, the hob detects when a pan's there which is great and once you've finished a 'H' shows which area is hot, this reduces to a 'h' as it cools and then disappears when it's back to normal temp. You can also set a timer for each cooking area which is very useful. ##### I'm adding a brief note to my review in response to the other two reviews, while I'm new to induction I really love this hob and I'm surprised it's not working well for others. As for this hob switching off when pans are removed well that's induction it will always do that. Firstly the comment about it being unresponsive, I've switched from gas and it seemed fine to me but until the other day I'd had no true test, I'd left a pan of pasta for a minute too long when I turned back it was on the verge of boiling over, literally right up to the top of the pan I quickly pressed minus and was pleasantly surprised when it responded immediately and didn't boil over. Another comment was that it didn't heat hot enough to brown meat, again this is not my experience when it's on level 9 it's incredibly hot plus there's also boost. I asked my husband about this and he asked firstly if we'd all reviewed the correct hob! ..... typical man. Then he went on about loads of stuff I didn't really understand the only part I got was that the current can be set to 13, 16 or 20 amps apparently it's in the manual in the part about changing intensity 'figure 7' but the hob can only heat up as quickly as it can get the current so if it's not set up correctly to the maximum current it won't work to it's full potential.... I hope this helps, all I can say is I love this hob and it works really well for me and it's a dream to clean.

I can only agree with nearly everyone else's reviews this hob is dreadful I thought that by buying a hob from a reputable company the product would have been perfect but no it isn't it is dreadful. I can't stand cooking on this hob anymore so after only 18 months I am having to buy another hob from another company what a waste of money.

It looks good, that's about all that is good about it. Having had a cheaper induction hob for many years, and knowing what they can do, I can't believe any firm would produce anything as useless as this. It boils quickly at number nine, but turn it down and it just sits there doing nothing. Would not recommend this to anyone who likes to cook.
This hob is terrible. It keeps turning off if I move pans, or if anything boils over. Doesn't get hot for ages.. e.g. takes forever for a fry pan to get hot, and it never gets really hot enough to give meat a good brown.. I am getting rid of mine. Cant believe how awful it is!
Just AWFUL! Might be just about OK as an entry level induction hob but not if you know how good induction should be. This hob is slow, unresponsive and the controls are truly awful. Just don't do it is my advice :-(
