How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2017On the whole I did enjoy this book.
It gives the reader a lovely overview to the feel of the West Country and names some lovely sites worth visiting. I like how it aimed to cover both old and modern witchcraft written in a laid back style of writing
I very much enjoyed chapter 2 as this is my area of interest.
I would disagree with my fellow reviewer who states this is more geared towards "Wicca" it is not. There is some talk of Wicca in the chapter 3 ,how could you not mention it.
I did raise a eyebrow and have a chuckle to myself where in the same chapter it gives the authors own opinion of Crowley and makes mention
Of how he exposed many of the "Golden Dawn and other Hermetic and Theleminite practitioners secrets" .Grammar could be much better as could facts .
The book consists of 92 pages
Chapter include
1 Witchcraft past and Present
2 West Country witches, pellars and charmers of old
3 Modern witchcraft in the West Country
4 Sites
I didn't learn anything new but is still a book that I will keep in my collection. Good effort ladies.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2017Would be a more appropriate title, same thing really, in this context anyway. Bit scrappy in places, but there are nuggets in there, you just have to dig a little.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 July 2020Well researched and written, the authors takes the reader on a magical mystery tour of the beautiful and magical west country. A wonderful introduction to some west country legends and folk tales.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative general introduction
Enjoyable introduction to the history of West Country folklore and traditional beliefs and practices. Good comparison to modern Pagan religions. Not always great grammatically, the is always understandable to the reader. Good bibliography, nice travel suggestions for the West Country. Respectful, intelligent general introduction to the topic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure I would buy this again?
I must start out by saying that there is a lot of material in this book that I enjoyed and haven't seen elsewhere, but having said that there was a lot of content that didn't relate to traditional witch craft but more to Wicca.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just bad.
Poorly written, incoherent, badly edited. It's a chore to read. I thought I was reading a thesis written by a thirteen-year-old. I know it's a small press publication, but come ON, when you're writing a book, and you can't afford an editor, at least get a friend to read it. Punctuation and proper spelling ARE important when you're publishing a book!
Now on to the content: It's nothing you can't find online. Please, don't waste the money.
