Templars Hotel and Restaurant building is steeped in history having been built as a private house and maltings in the early 18th century when Baldock was a favourite watering place on the main Great North Road from London to York. Subsequent owners included the Ind family founders of the Ind Coope brewery company. We are located in the heart of one of Hertfordshire s oldest towns with the tourist sites of London and Cambridge all within easy reach. We are in the centre of the High Street with on street parking bus stop and taxi rank outside the door. The train station is a 5 mins walk. Easy road and rail access to London 35 miles Cambridge 22 miles Luton Airport 15 miles & Stansted 26 miles.
For those who like to walk we are ideally located to the town of Letchworth just 2 miles or a country walk to the villages of Ashwell or Weston. Many more within a short drive park up and walk through some beautiful scenery of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Places of interest in the area include Duxford Imperial War Museum just 19 miles by road. Knebworth House & grounds are 7 miles away were concerts & open events are held in the summer months. Wimploe Hall is a national Trust property with house gardens and petting farm 40 min drive along A10.
